ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Garden Preservation Technician is responsible for the overall upkeep, safety, and organization of the company grounds, shop facilities, office, and equipment. This is a hands-on, versatile role essential to the daily operations and professional appearance of the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Waste Management: Schedule and coordinate dumpster deliveries and pickups as needed; arrange for metal scrap removal or haul off; ensure garbage and recycling are collected and disposed of properly.
SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
Secure fire permits for authorized burning; maintain compliance with local regulations and company safety standards.
FACILITY MAINTENANCE
Clean and organize the shop and yard areas; maintain a tidy, hazard-free environment; keep parking areas clear and accessible.
GROUNDKEEPING
Mow grass and maintain lawns weekly, or as needed; assist with seasonal landscaping tasks such as trimming, weeding, and debris removal.
BUILDING REPAIRS
Perform general repairs in the office and shop, including fixing lights, doors, windows, and other fixtures; replace air filters in trailers and office HVAC systems; address minor plumbing or electrical issues as able.
LOGISTICS SUPPORT
Receive and organize building materials (lumber, pipes, etc.) in designated storage racks; assist with inventory management and material handling.
PROJECT SUPPORT
Help prepare for office moves, renovations, or construction projects; coordinate with contractors and Director of Operations to ensure smooth transitions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in maintenance, facilities, landscaping, or a related field preferred.
SKILLS
Basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills; ability to operate lawn care and landscaping equipment; strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift heavy objects, work outdoors in all weather conditions, and perform manual labor for extended periods.
